ACT, Inc. (view sessions)
ACT works with community and technical colleges nationwide to deliver a range of assessments and workforce development solutions helping students obtain their educational and/or workforce career goals. To assist in this process, almost 900 colleges in the United States and Canada use ACT’s COMPASS/ESL with e-Write system, assessing the needs of 1,000,000 new students yearly. COMPASS/ESL is a computer-delivered, adaptive placement test that provides diagnostic information about an entering student’s skills in math, reading, and writing. The ACT ESL Placement Test (English as a Second Language) is a comprehensive assessment for postsecondary ESL students and includes Reading, Grammar/Usage, and Listening. ACT is pleased to offer the COMPASS e-Write service, a direct writing assessment that collects a student’s writing sample on the computer and immediately scores the results as a part of the COMPASS/ESL student report. For more information, visit www.act.org/compass. ACT also provides assessments that can help build a comprehensive picture of a student’s entering skills, work skills, or outcomes. Programs like WorkKeys (workforce development), CAAP (student outcomes), and DISCOVER (career planning software) can assist in these areas. A new initiative is underway nation-wide with the ACT Centers, who provide a national network of centers (hosted by selected community colleges) that use the latest technologies to deliver testing and training services for individuals, educational institutions, businesses, and other organizations. ACT Center services include • Computer delivered certification and licensure testing for trades and professions; • Workforce development assessment; • Continuing education courses in an array of disciplines; • Skill-specific training in selected fields; • Distance learning and video conferencing with the state-of-the-art technology; and • Computerized educational and career guidance counseling. ACT has regional offices throughout the United States, with staff specializing in placement, outcomes, career planning, or workforce development. These staff assist educational institutions with on-campus workshops and help them use the valuable information gained through assessing student skills.

ZogoTech (view sessions)
ZogoTech helps schools make better-informed decisions through data warehousing. In a college or university with Institutional Intelligence, everyone in the institution is making decisions based on data instead of hunches. The idea of a "culture of evidence" permeates every facet of the institution. ZogoTech continues to help colleges and universities reach that ideal through our Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions. Using ZogoTech’s Estudias software, institutional researchers and administrators can quickly "slice and dice" data, play "what-if" scenarios, perform longitudinal cohort tracking, and create ad-hoc reports. Estudias goes beyond data warehousing by consolidating information silos and giving researchers access to group-specific metrics to link student services to learning outcomes. Users can access the data through many analytical tools such as SAS, SPSS, and Microsoft Excel. See our Innovation website for an online demo and our presentation times: http://zogotech.com/innovation.
