Kevin MacRitchie is part of the Cisco Systems “Giving Back” program in which key executives are loaned to not-for-profit organizations and state and local government agencies to provide business and technology expertise on key initiatives. Mr. MacRitchie started his initiative to help the Livingston County School System (MI) expand and develop a technological advantage that would provide superior education for their students. This project has grown to embrace other school districts, county governments, and first responders, and has now expanded to a statewide initiative that will include 16-20 counties and create east-west and north-south interconnected corridors. Kevin presents at state educational conferences and speaks with Congress in Washington, D.C. on the topic of how technology can help the economy and its effects on education.
As the vice president and chief global strategist for the Global Government Systems Group at Cisco Systems, Inc., Mr. MacRitchie established a world-class team focused on expanding Cisco’s ability to address the exceedingly complex defense and public safety challenges facing governments worldwide. Kevin’s team provided the coordination and subject matter expertise that enabled the Cisco in-theater teams to provide core, advanced, and emerging technologies to meet the needs of their government customers while driving the growth of Cisco’s global public sector.
Mr. MacRitchie joined Cisco in April 1993 as a systems engineer and quickly moved through the ranks of the Systems Engineering Organization as a systems engineering manager and a systems engineer director. As a director, he led the U.S. Federal System Engineering Team to achieve its highest customer satisfaction results. Kevin later played an instrumental role in driving Cisco’s Global Y2K Readiness Program. Promoted to vice president of WW Channels Technical Operations in August 2004, MacRitchie’s innovative strategies enabled the success of Cisco’s Partner Community through focus on partner development, brand protection, and customer and partner satisfaction and loyalty. Following his success in Channels, Kevin led the Global Defense, Space, and Homeland Security arm of Cisco’s Global Government Solutions Group (GGSG). In that role, Kevin expanded GGSG’s reach far beyond the U.S. and Canadian borders, creating opportunities in the fastest growing markets in the global public sector.
MacRitchie holds one of the industry’s first Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) certifications.
Kevin, his wife, and two children live in Michigan on their horse, cattle, and buffalo ranch.
