National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD)

NISOD is the outreach organization of the Community College Leadership Program in the Department of Educational Administration, College of Education, at The University of Texas at Austin. NISOD supports excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership at its more than 600 member colleges around the world. More than 85,000 copies of professional development materials are mailed weekly, including the teaching tips Innovation Abstracts, Linkages newsletter, and occasional paper Celebrations. NISOD's International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence-now in its 22nd year—is held each May in Austin, Texas. It features internationally renowned keynote speakers and organizes breakout sessions and roundtable discussions, featuring a diverse array of current issues and strategies supporting excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership.
