Assessment in Context: A Systems Approach to Educational Effectiveness

This presentation/workshop provokes thought and promotes dialogue on effective community college practice. It fulfills that purpose through the use of systems theory to highlight the role of context in achieving intended outcomes that meet internal and external expectations. Participants engage in a series of non-threatening interactive activities to critically review the alignment of intentions, actions, assessments, and achievements by analyzing major components of community college practice and synthesizing relationships among those components.
