The “Colors” of a High-Performance TeamAs we prepare for the next generation of leaders, administrators, directors, and department chairs must focus on creating high-performing teams. This highly interactive seminar uses personality temperament as the foundation for understanding diversity and cultural awareness. People are intrinsically different. They strive to achieve a sense of self-worth from very different perspectives. Identification with these differences can be accomplished through the use of metaphors using colors. Color has been used to shape and describe our lives, our habits, our values, and our feelings throughout the ages. Research into physiological effects of color has shown that it truly has an impact on our lives, often in unconscious and mysterious ways. Participants will discover their personality spectrum through a series of visual and kinesthetic card and word sorting. Then, a thorough exploration of joys, values, needs, and strengths is undertaken. Upon discovering their personality spectrum through the aura of colors, participants will focus on four particular stages of team building: Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing. A SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) will be explored and serve as the diagnosis for developing a high-performance team. Through role playing, participants will understand the value of team positioning and what makes a winning team.
