Applying Basic Supervisory Techniques
in Community Colleges
In the course of
their careers, some staff members, administrators, instructors, and
clerical and other personnel will be promoted to supervisory positions,
despite lacking formal training in the supervision of others. This
workshop is designed to provide participants with a quick overview of the
essential elements of successful supervisory and leadership skills,
especially within the context of community colleges.
Participants are given a solid foundation that helps them understand their
new roles and inherent duties; examine their individual styles of management
and leadership, interpersonal skills, life and career goals, and
communication skills; and explore their understanding of millennium
