The League for Innovation in the Community College has two awards programs each spring that recognize and celebrate community college innovation and excellence. League Alliance member institutions are encouraged to participate in this year’s awards season to showcase outstanding faculty, staff, and administrators and the creative programs and practices they have developed.

Television, radio, newspapers, and social media; community college marketers use many channels to communicate these days. But perhaps they should be considering a more grassroots approach: the humble church newsletter. This year's Kid's Vision for Life See to Succeed event at San Jacinto College impacted approximately 1,133 school children from the Pasadena Independent School District (PISD).
Out of those who visited the college for free eye examinations, 96 percent were issued eye glasses, and 154 received medical referrals for further eye care treatment. This is See to Succeed's third year in delivering free eye glasses to PISD children in need.
